Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive vulnerability assessments and penetration testing of state systems and networks.
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM tools to detect and respond to cyber threats in real-time.
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust security policies and compliance frameworks aligned with NIST standards.
- Lead incident response efforts for security breaches, coordinating with IT and law enforcement agencies.
- Manage user access controls, identity management, and privilege auditing to ensure data confidentiality.
- Collaborate with software development teams to integrate security best practices into the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Prepare and present security status reports to executive leadership and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- 3-5 years of progressive experience in information security, network security, or a related IT discipline.
- Professional certification such as CISSP, Security+, CEH, or CISM is highly preferred.
- Deep understanding of NIST, ISO 27001, and HIPAA compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure during security incidents.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for translating technical risks to non-technical audiences.
