Responsibilities
- Lead Technical Strategy: Design, develop, and implement complex IT solutions that align with citywide strategic goals and infrastructure standards.
- System Architecture: Oversee the architecture of cloud-based and on-premise systems, ensuring scalability, security, and high availability.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with department heads, vendors, and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Cybersecurity Compliance: Enforce strict cybersecurity protocols and conduct risk assessments to protect sensitive city data and infrastructure.
- Project Oversight: Manage the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) including requirements gathering, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Technical Mentoring: Mentor junior staff members, conduct code reviews, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in information technology, systems analysis, or software engineering within a government or large enterprise environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C#, and experience with database management systems (SQL, NoSQL) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
- Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide innovative solutions under tight deadlines.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
- Agile Methodology: Experience working in Agile or Scrum development environments.
