Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex IT systems and network infrastructure across county departments.
- Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Oversee cybersecurity protocols, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify digital transformation opportunities and optimize workflows.
- Manage vendor relationships and oversee IT budget allocation for equipment and services.
- Conduct regular system audits and performance assessments to ensure reliability and security.
- Mentor junior IT staff and foster a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT systems administration or network engineering.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, SQL, and cloud technologies (Azure/AWS).
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification preferred.
- Experience with government IT standards, data privacy laws, and compliance frameworks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various county facilities.
