Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) across county facilities.
- Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network infrastructure issues.
- Manage network security protocols and ensure compliance with federal and state data privacy regulations.
- Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer systems, servers, and peripherals.
- Collaborate with department heads to identify technical requirements and develop scalable IT solutions.
- Train staff on new technologies and software applications to enhance productivity.
- Monitor system performance and perform regular backups and disaster recovery testing.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in network administration or systems engineering.
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation (required for on-site support).
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and Active Directory.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, or CCNA are highly desirable.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with non-technical staff.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
