In this pivotal role, you will drive our digital transformation initiatives, ensuring our IT infrastructure is robust, secure, and efficient. You will serve as a key advisor to city departments, managing complex technical projects and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the planning, implementation, and maintenance of the city's network infrastructure and telecommunications systems.
- Develop and enforce IT policies and procedures to ensure strict compliance with government security standards and regulations.
- Provide advanced technical support and strategic guidance to city staff regarding hardware, software, and network operations.
- Conduct regular system security audits and implement necessary protocols to protect sensitive citizen data.
- Collaborate with department heads to identify technology gaps and drive the adoption of innovative digital solutions.
- Manage vendor relationships and oversee the performance of third-party IT service providers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT systems administration, cybersecurity, or a related government role.
- Strong working knowledge of network protocols, server management, and cloud technologies (e.g., Azure, AWS).
- In-depth understanding of government compliance frameworks and data protection regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven experience in leading IT projects within a large-scale organizational structure.
