Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage enterprise-level network infrastructure including firewalls, switches, and wireless systems
- Lead cloud migration projects and optimize Azure/ AWS environments for county operations
- Develop disaster recovery plans and conduct regular system backups to ensure data integrity
- Provide Tier-3 technical support for complex hardware/software issues across county departments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align IT strategies with county objectives
- Monitor system performance using tools like Nagios and Splunk, proactively addressing bottlenecks
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in enterprise infrastructure management with government/public sector background
- Expertise in virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), and network security protocols
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent cybersecurity certification required
- Strong proficiency in scripting (PowerShell/Python) for automation tasks
- Excellent communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
- Valid North Carolina driver's license and ability to travel between county facilities
