Responsibilities
- Oversee the full project lifecycle from initiation and planning through execution, monitoring, and closure for major IT infrastructure projects.
- Manage cross-functional teams and external vendors to ensure deliverables meet strict government standards and timelines.
- Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including FOIA and procurement guidelines.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, budgets, and resource allocations to minimize risk and maximize ROI.
- Facilitate Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Communicate project status, risks, and opportunities to stakeholders and city leadership effectively.
- Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency in government project management methodologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or PgMP (Program Management Professional) certification is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, specifically within the public sector or large-scale enterprise environments.
- Strong working knowledge of ITIL, Agile, and Waterfall methodologies.
- Proven track record of managing budgets exceeding $500,000.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project, JIRA, or similar project management tools.
