Responsibilities
- Lead & Manage Projects: Oversee the full project lifecycle from initiation to closure, ensuring alignment with the council’s strategic objectives and government regulations.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for key stakeholders, ensuring clear communication, managing expectations, and facilitating workshops.
- Resource Management: Plan, allocate, and manage project resources effectively to ensure optimal performance and team development.
- Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify potential risks and issues, developing mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
- Budget Control: Monitor project budgets and financial performance, ensuring cost-effectiveness and value for money.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external suppliers and vendors, ensuring contract deliverables are met.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all project outputs meet stringent quality standards and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
- Education: A relevant degree (e.g., Computer Science, Business, Project Management) or equivalent professional qualification.
- Experience: Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in IT project management within the public sector or a large, complex organization.
- Methodologies: Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, including Prince2, MSP, or Agile/Scrum.
- Technical Proficiency: Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, software development lifecycles, and digital transformation trends.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams.
