Responsibilities
- Lead and manage complex IT projects from initiation through closure, ensuring alignment with agency strategic goals.
- Oversee project budgets, resource allocation, and timeline adherence to deliver high-quality results on time.
- Facilitate communication between stakeholders, technical teams, and executive leadership to drive project consensus.
- Implement and monitor project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) to optimize workflow efficiency.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring compliance with state procurement and regulatory standards.
- Conduct regular project status reviews and prepare detailed reporting for state auditors and leadership.
- Mentor junior project managers and coordinate cross-functional teams to foster a collaborative environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT Project Management within a government or large-scale enterprise environment.
- Proven experience managing budgets over $1M and leading cross-functional teams.
- PMP, PgMP, or CAPM certification is highly preferred.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and possess or be willing to obtain Texas state residency.
- Strong proficiency in project management tools such as JIRA, MS Project, and Confluence.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical jargon for non-technical audiences.
