Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain secure network infrastructure across 20+ city departments
- Lead cybersecurity initiatives including threat detection, incident response, and compliance with NIST standards
- Manage enterprise systems including Active Directory, VMware, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure)
- Develop technical documentation and provide training to 500+ municipal employees
- Collaborate with vendors on system integrations and technology procurement
- Ensure 99.9% uptime for critical public services and emergency response systems
- Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend strategic upgrades
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive IT infrastructure experience in government or regulated industry
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or equivalent cybersecurity certification required
- Expertise in Windows Server administration, virtualization, and enterprise networking
- Proven experience with project management methodologies (Agile/Scrum)
- Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust security clearance
- Maryland residency required within 6 months of hire
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration
