Role Overview
As a Senior IT Specialist, you will serve as a technical expert, providing leadership in network administration, cybersecurity compliance, and system troubleshooting for federal clients. You will ensure the integrity of sensitive data and the reliability of mission-critical systems.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain complex federal network architectures to ensure high availability and security.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot hardware/software issues to minimize downtime.
- Enforce compliance with federal regulations (FISMA, NIST) and internal security protocols.
- Lead technical teams in incident response and disaster recovery planning exercises.
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to protect classified information.
- Provide advanced technical support and mentoring to junior IT staff and end-users.
Qualifications
- Active Top Secret or Secret Security Clearance (or ability to obtain).
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in federal or military IT environments.
- Certification such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or Cisco CCNP preferred.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and firewalls.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting.
