Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, design, and implementation of complex IT projects and system upgrades for state agencies.
- Ensure compliance with Illinois state regulations, federal standards (FISMA), and cybersecurity best practices.
- Provide advanced technical troubleshooting and support for critical infrastructure and applications.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for system architecture, processes, and disaster recovery plans.
- Mentor junior staff and conduct technical training sessions to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Manage vendor relationships and oversee third-party contractors to ensure project milestones are met.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT systems analysis, project management, or a related technical field.
- Proven experience working within the public sector or government environment.
- Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, cloud computing, and cybersecurity protocols.
- Experience with Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
