Responsibilities
- Design, code, test, and deploy complex software applications and system solutions in accordance with state standards and best practices.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for critical infrastructure issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring business continuity for agency operations.
- Conduct thorough system analysis to identify performance bottlenecks and implement optimization strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, project managers, and subject matter experts, to translate requirements into technical specifications.
- Ensure strict adherence to IT security protocols and compliance regulations, including NIST and NY State privacy laws.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
- Document system architectures, code, and procedures to maintain a clear knowledge base for the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in software development, systems analysis, or IT support within a government or large enterprise environment.
- Proficient in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C# and database management systems like SQL Server.
- Demonstrated experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and virtualization technologies.
- Strong understanding of ITIL frameworks, cybersecurity principles, and software lifecycle management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a NYS security clearance.
