Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain the City's local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) infrastructure.
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local cybersecurity standards and protocols.
- Provide technical support and training to City employees regarding software applications and hardware peripherals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to upgrade and modernize legacy systems.
- Manage inventory of IT assets and coordinate software licensing.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Bachelor's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in network administration or IT support within a government or enterprise environment.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, CCNA, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator are highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and routing protocols.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical staff.
- Ability to obtain a government security clearance (if applicable).
