Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain enterprise Windows/Linux servers and virtualization environments
- Implement cybersecurity protocols and ensure compliance with state/federal regulations
- Provide Tier 3 technical support for state agency systems and applications
- Lead disaster recovery planning and system backup procedures
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on IT infrastructure projects
- Document system configurations and create technical documentation
- Monitor system performance and optimize resource utilization
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience in IT systems administration
- Expertise in Windows Server 2019/2022 and VMware vSphere
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, CIS)
- Active Security+ or CISSP certification preferred
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and scripting (PowerShell/Python)
- Ability to obtain and maintain Texas state security clearance
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
