Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs), including hardware and software components.
- Implement and maintain security protocols to protect sensitive government data and ensure compliance with federal regulations (FISMA).
- Provide Tier 2/3 technical support and troubleshooting for end-users, hardware, and software issues.
- Conduct regular system audits, performance assessments, and capacity planning to optimize network efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, execute, and deploy IT infrastructure projects on time and within budget.
- Document all system configurations, procedures, and changes to maintain an up-to-date knowledge base.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
- Active Secret or Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
- 5+ years of progressive experience in systems administration or network engineering.
- Proficiency in Linux (RHEL, CentOS), Windows Server, and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN) and firewall management (Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, regulatory environment.
