Job Summary
The Senior IT Systems Analyst will be responsible for analyzing, designing, and implementing complex IT solutions that support state operations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve system efficiency, ensure data integrity, and deliver high-quality technology services to the citizens of Texas.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement complex IT systems and software solutions in accordance with state standards.
- Analyze complex business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for development teams.
- Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to junior analysts and IT staff.
- Conduct system performance tuning, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal uptime and user experience.
- Manage and oversee large-scale database migrations and data integration projects.
- Ensure compliance with state cybersecurity policies and data privacy regulations.
- Prepare detailed technical documentation, including system diagrams and user manuals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Systems Analysis, IT consulting, or software development.
- Proven experience with enterprise infrastructure, cloud computing (AWS/Azure), and database management (SQL/Oracle).
- Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies and software development life cycles (SDLC).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working within a government or large-scale enterprise environment is highly desired.
- Must possess strong leadership and project management skills.
