Responsibilities
- Oversee maintenance and repair of municipal water, sewer, and transportation systems
- Coordinate with contractors and city agencies on infrastructure projects
- Conduct site inspections and prepare technical compliance reports
- Develop and implement sustainable infrastructure improvement plans
- Manage public works budgets and resource allocation
- Respond to emergency infrastructure disruptions with rapid solutions
- Train junior staff on municipal safety protocols and equipment operation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in municipal infrastructure management
- Valid Illinois Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Certification in Public Works Management (APWA/CIP preferred)
- Strong knowledge of Chicago municipal codes and regulations
- Experience with GIS mapping and infrastructure management software
- Excellent project management and stakeholder communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including emergency response
