Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage complex network infrastructure using Cisco and Juniper technologies to ensure high availability and performance.
- Oversee network security protocols, firewalls, and VPN configurations to protect sensitive state data from cyber threats.
- Provide 24/7 on-call support for critical network outages and perform troubleshooting of routing, switching, and wireless systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to upgrade legacy systems and integrate new cloud-based solutions.
- Conduct regular network audits, capacity planning, and performance monitoring to optimize bandwidth and reduce latency.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation for network diagrams, configurations, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering, system administration, or a related technical field within the public sector or a large enterprise.
- Strong technical proficiency in Cisco IOS, OSPF, BGP, VLANs, and WAN/LAN technologies.
- Valid Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent certification is highly preferred.
- Proven experience with network security appliances (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet) and identity management systems.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure during emergencies.
- Must be a US Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident eligible for federal/state security clearance.
