Responsibilities
- Administer defined benefit pension plans including benefit calculations, distributions, and member communications
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and Florida state pension laws
- Manage pension fund investments, actuarial valuations, and financial reporting
- Develop and implement plan amendments and policy updates
- Conduct complex benefit analysis for retirement eligibility scenarios
- Collaborate with external auditors, legal counsel, and investment advisors
- Lead member education workshops and retirement counseling sessions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, or related field
- 5+ years of pension plan administration experience in public/government sector
- SPBA or QKA certification preferred
- Advanced proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, Parnassus)
- Expert knowledge of ERISA, IRS Code 401(a), and Florida Statutes Chapter 121
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial data
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement
- Valid Florida driver's license
