Responsibilities
- Process Pension Claims: Accurately review and process retirement applications, benefit calculations, and refund requests during the night shift.
- Data Verification: Validate eligibility documentation and reconcile financial records to ensure 100% accuracy.
- System Management: Input and update data into the TRS core banking and pension management systems.
- Compliance Adherence: Ensure all actions comply with Texas state laws and Department of Retirement System regulations.
- Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve discrepancies in pension records or inquiries from retirees.
- Reporting: Generate nightly reports on processed transactions and pending cases for the day shift team.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field; OR equivalent years of relevant experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in pension administration, benefits processing, or government accounting.
- Availability: Must be available to work the night shift (e.g., 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM) on a full-time basis.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and experience with ERP or HRIS systems.
- Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills with a proven track record of error-free data entry.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with internal staff and external retirees.
