Responsibilities
- Manage Pension Disbursements: Oversee the calculation and monthly processing of pension payments for thousands of eligible retirees.
- Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Audit all pension records to ensure strict adherence to state laws, federal regulations (ERISA), and internal policies.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary contact for inquiries regarding eligibility, benefits, and claims processing for state employees.
- Data Management: Maintain accurate, up-to-date demographic and financial data within the state HRIS system.
- Actuarial Support: Assist actuaries in preparing reports on the status of the pension fund and future liabilities.
- Policy Development: Contribute to the development and implementation of new pension policies and procedural updates.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Actuarial Science, or Public Administration required.
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in pension administration, human resources, or financial services.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and experience with state government software.
- Attention to Detail: Proven track record of maintaining data integrity in high-volume financial environments.
- Communication: Strong ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Ability to resolve discrepancies in records and navigate complex regulatory issues.
