Responsibilities
- Analyze complex state and federal legislation to recommend policy modifications for IDHS programs
- Lead stakeholder engagement with community organizations, legislators, and agency partners
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefs, legislative testimony, and executive reports
- Monitor program performance metrics and identify improvement opportunities
- Develop data-driven implementation strategies for new policy initiatives
- Coordinate with budget analysts to assess fiscal impact of policy changes
- Train agency staff on updated regulations and compliance requirements
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Social Work, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or non-profit sector
- Expertise in quantitative/qualitative research methodologies and data analysis
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and policy analysis software
- Demonstrated success in developing legislative proposals and policy frameworks
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences
- Knowledge of Illinois state government operations and human services systems
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
