Responsibilities
- Research and analyze complex municipal policies related to urban development, sustainability, and public services
- Develop data-driven recommendations for City Council and executive leadership
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefs, reports, and legislative testimony
- Coordinate with multiple city departments and community stakeholders
- Monitor federal and state legislative impacts on local government operations
- Manage public engagement initiatives for policy implementation
- Maintain compliance with municipal governance regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Urban Planning, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of policy analysis experience in government or public sector
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools (SPSS, R, or SAS)
- Expert knowledge of New Mexico's legislative and regulatory framework
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with public policy development and implementation
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
- Valid New Mexico driver's license
