Responsibilities
- Analyze complex socioeconomic data to inform evidence-based policy recommendations for Tennessee's economic growth initiatives
- Collaborate with state legislators and federal agencies to draft legislation addressing workforce development and infrastructure
- Lead stakeholder engagement sessions with local governments, businesses, and community organizations across Tennessee
- Monitor and evaluate policy implementation effectiveness using KPIs and performance metrics
- Develop comprehensive policy briefs and presentations for executive leadership and legislative committees
- Coordinate with New York state counterparts on regional economic development partnerships
- Manage $5M+ grant programs supporting rural and urban community revitalization projects
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Economics, Urban Planning, or related field (Bachelor's with 8+ years experience considered)
- Minimum 5 years progressive policy analysis experience in state/local government or public sector consulting
- Advanced proficiency in quantitative data analysis tools (SPSS, R, Stata) and policy modeling software
- Demonstrated success in drafting legislation and navigating state regulatory processes
- Exceptional written communication skills with samples of published policy papers
- Experience managing federal grant programs and compliance requirements
- Knowledge of Tennessee and New York state government structures and legislative processes
