Responsibilities
- Analyze complex state legislation and regulatory frameworks to develop actionable policy recommendations
- Conduct quantitative/qualitative research and economic impact assessments for proposed programs
- Coordinate inter-agency task forces and stakeholder engagement initiatives
- Draft policy briefs, executive summaries, and legislative testimony for senior leadership
- Monitor federal compliance requirements and adapt state policies accordingly
- Lead cross-departmental projects implementing statewide policy initiatives
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive policy analysis experience in government or non-profit sector
- Expertise in quantitative research methodologies and statistical analysis tools
- Proven ability to interpret complex legislation and regulatory requirements
- Advanced proficiency in data visualization software (Tableau, Power BI)
- NY State residency required within 30 days of appointment
