Responsibilities
- Research and analyze complex policy issues across healthcare, education, and economic development sectors
- Develop comprehensive policy briefs and legislative recommendations for state agencies
- Collaborate with stakeholders including legislators, advocacy groups, and community leaders
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative research using advanced statistical methods
- Present findings to executive leadership and legislative committees
- Monitor implementation and evaluate effectiveness of enacted policies
- Lead cross-functional task forces on emerging policy challenges
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Economics, Political Science, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive policy analysis experience in government or public sector
- Expertise in quantitative research methods and statistical analysis software (SPSS, R, Stata)
- Proven track record of developing actionable policy recommendations
- Deep knowledge of New York State government operations and legislative processes
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects under tight deadlines
- NY State residency required at time of appointment
