Responsibilities
- Analyze complex financial data to calculate accurate pension benefits and survivor annuities.
- Review and approve retirement applications and payroll adjustments with high precision.
- Provide exceptional customer service and guidance to retiring employees regarding their pension options.
- Ensure full compliance with Illinois state statutes and federal retirement regulations.
- Collaborate with the Benefits Administration team to streamline pension processing workflows.
- Prepare detailed reports for state auditors and oversight committees.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in public sector payroll, benefits administration, or actuarial science.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Public Administration preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel (pivot tables, formulas).
- Experience with state HRIS systems or pension administration software is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex regulations.
- U.S. Citizenship and a valid driver's license are required.
