Responsibilities
- Analyze complex policy issues and recommend data-driven solutions to state leadership
- Research emerging trends in public administration and best practices nationwide
- Develop comprehensive policy briefs, legislation, and implementation strategies
- Coordinate cross-agency task forces and stakeholder engagement initiatives
- Monitor legislative developments and regulatory changes affecting Kansas
- Present findings to executive leadership and legislative committees
- Maintain compliance with state regulations and reporting requirements
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of policy analysis experience in government or public sector
- Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis tools (SPSS, R, or Stata)
- Demonstrated experience with policy development and implementation
- Strong written/verbal communication skills with public speaking experience
- Knowledge of Kansas state government structure and legislative processes
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
- Valid Kansas driver's license required for state travel
