Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate complex policy proposals using quantitative/qualitative research methods
- Analyze legislative impacts and regulatory frameworks affecting DC residents
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefs and recommendations for executive leadership
- Coordinate with 20+ city agencies and federal partners on cross-initiatives
- Lead stakeholder engagement sessions with community leaders and industry experts
- Monitor implementation outcomes and adjust strategies based on performance metrics
- Mentor junior analysts and manage policy project lifecycles
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Political Science, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive policy analysis experience in government or nonprofit sector
- Expertise in data analysis tools (SPSS, R, Python) and policy modeling software
- Deep understanding of DC's unique governance structure and federal-local dynamics
- Proven ability to translate complex data into actionable policy recommendations
- Exceptional written/verbal communication skills with demonstrated briefing experience
- Valid DC government security clearance or ability to obtain within 30 days
