Responsibilities
- Analyze local, state, and federal policies to identify opportunities for human rights advancement
- Develop evidence-based policy recommendations and implementation strategies
- Conduct community outreach and stakeholder engagement to gather diverse perspectives
- Prepare comprehensive reports, memoranda, and legislative testimony for city officials
- Monitor policy implementation and evaluate outcomes through quantitative and qualitative methods
- Collaborate with city departments to ensure policy alignment across agencies
- Represent the Commission at public meetings, hearings, and community forums
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Social Work, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of policy analysis experience in government or non-profit sector
- Expertise in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
- Proven ability to draft complex policy documents and legislative language
- Strong understanding of California governance structures and SF municipal codes
- Experience with community engagement and culturally responsive practices
- Exceptional written/verbal communication skills with bilingual abilities a plus
