Responsibilities
- Analyze complex state legislation and regulations for policy implications
- Conduct quantitative/qualitative research to support evidence-based policymaking
- Develop policy briefs and recommendations for legislative committees
- Coordinate inter-agency initiatives on urban development and public services
- Present findings to lawmakers and community stakeholders
- Monitor policy implementation effectiveness through data analysis
- Mentor junior analysts on public sector research methodologies
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government/nonprofit
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software (SPSS, R) and data visualization
- Deep knowledge of Michigan legislative processes and state agencies
- Exceptional written/verbal communication and presentation skills
- Experience with community engagement in urban environments
- Valid Michigan driver's license and clean driving record
