Responsibilities
- Research and analyze complex policy issues across housing, transportation, and economic development
- Develop data-driven policy recommendations for city council and mayoral office
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for stakeholder briefings
- Collaborate with 15+ city departments on cross-functional initiatives
- Manage public consultation processes and community engagement
- Monitor legislative changes and assess fiscal impacts
- Mentor junior analysts and supervise policy interns
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Administration, Urban Planning, Economics, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or nonprofit sector
- Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI)
- Expertise in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
- Deep understanding of California state and SF local government operations
- Proven ability to communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences
- Valid California driver's license (required for field visits)
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency status
