What You'll Do: Lead cross-departmental initiatives, conduct rigorous policy research, and develop actionable recommendations for Chicago's 2.7 million residents. Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive policy frameworks for city-wide initiatives
- Analyze complex datasets to inform evidence-based decision making
- Collaborate with 30+ city departments on implementation strategies
- Present findings to City Council committees and executive leadership
- Manage $5M+ grant programs for community development projects
- Oversee stakeholder engagement with community organizations
- Prepare quarterly policy impact reports for the Mayor's Office
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, or related field
- 5+ years experience in municipal government or policy research
- Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis tools (R, SPSS, Python)
- Demonstrated success in leading interdepartmental initiatives
- Deep understanding of Chicago's governmental structure
- Valid Illinois driver's license (required for field research)
- Clearable background check and security clearance
