Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive policy briefs and legislative recommendations for state agencies
- Analyze complex datasets to evaluate program effectiveness and identify policy gaps
- Coordinate with stakeholders including legislators, community organizations, and industry partners
- Present findings to executive leadership through formal reports and oral presentations
- Monitor federal and state regulatory changes to ensure compliance and policy alignment
- Lead cross-functional task forces on emerging policy challenges
- Mentor junior analysts through structured knowledge-sharing sessions
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive policy analysis experience in government or non-profit sector
- Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis software (R, SPSS, or Stata)
- Demonstrated success in developing data-driven policy recommendations
- Deep knowledge of New York State government operations and regulatory frameworks
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Valid New York State driver's license (travel to state facilities required)
