Responsibilities
- Analyze complex urban policy data to recommend evidence-based solutions for Detroit's economic revitalization
- Coordinate with federal/state/local agencies to implement infrastructure grant programs
- Develop legislative briefings and policy recommendations for state representatives
- Lead cross-departmental task forces addressing housing affordability and public safety
- Manage $2M+ annual budget allocations for community development projects
- Present findings to legislative committees and public stakeholders quarterly
- Mentor junior analysts using Michigan's public service leadership framework
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years analyzing government policies at municipal/state level
- Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI)
- Deep understanding of federal grant compliance (HUD, DOT, EPA)
- Experience managing public sector budgets over $500,000
- Proven ability to facilitate multi-agency consensus-building
- Valid Michigan driver's license and ability to travel statewide
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass federal background check
