Responsibilities
- Research and analyze complex financial regulations, legislation, and policy impacts on city operations
- Develop evidence-based policy recommendations addressing urban development challenges
- Collaborate with 15+ city departments to align financial strategies with community needs
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for City Council and executive leadership
- Monitor implementation of existing policies and propose data-driven improvements
- Lead stakeholder engagement sessions with community organizations and industry partners
- Manage policy development projects from research through legislative drafting
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Economics, Urban Planning, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in government policy analysis or public sector finance
- Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis tools (R, Python, or SAS)
- Expert knowledge of Washington state municipal finance regulations
- Proven ability to translate complex data into actionable policy recommendations
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with public presentation experience
- Valid Washington State Driver's License
