Responsibilities
- Analyze complex policy issues and draft comprehensive reports for state legislators and executive leadership
- Conduct quantitative/qualitative research using advanced statistical methods and stakeholder interviews
- Develop strategic policy recommendations aligned with New York's 2030 Agenda for economic equity
- Coordinate interdepartmental task forces and facilitate cross-agency implementation
- Monitor federal regulatory changes and assess impacts on state operations
- Present findings to legislative committees and public forums
- Mentor junior analysts and manage policy development workflows
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Economics, Political Science, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or public sector
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software (R, Stata, SPSS)
- Deep knowledge of New York State legislative processes and regulations
- Superior written/verbal communication with demonstrated report publication record
- Project management certification (PMP or equivalent)
- Experience with budget analysis and fiscal impact modeling
- Valid New York State driver's license
