Responsibilities
- Analyze complex policy issues and draft actionable recommendations for state leadership
- Conduct quantitative/qualitative research using statistical tools and public data sources
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to implement policy initiatives
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for legislative bodies and stakeholders
- Monitor federal and state legislative developments affecting New Mexico
- Lead stakeholder engagement sessions across diverse community groups
- Manage policy implementation timelines and compliance requirements
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Economics, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or non-profit sector
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software (R, Python, SPSS)
- Demonstrated experience with stakeholder engagement and public testimony
- Knowledge of New Mexico state government operations and legislative process
- Strong analytical writing and presentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects under tight deadlines
- Valid New Mexico driver's license (required for travel)
