- Coordinate with elected officials and executive leadership on messaging consistency
- Analyze public sentiment and adjust strategies using data-driven insights
- Oversee social media campaigns with 500K+ follower reach
- Supervise junior staff and manage external vendor contracts
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive public affairs/government communications experience
- Proven crisis management and media relations expertise
- Advanced proficiency in CMS platforms (WordPress) and analytics tools
- Valid California driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to obtain City of San Diego security clearance
- Portfolio demonstrating successful public campaigns
- Knowledge of California Public Records Act and open meeting laws
