Responsibilities
- Develop and implement epidemiological surveillance systems for communicable disease outbreaks
- Analyze population health data to identify trends and inform strategic interventions
- Collaborate with community partners to design health education campaigns
- Prepare comprehensive public health reports for county leadership and stakeholders
- Lead emergency response coordination during public health crises
- Mentor junior staff and oversee research projects
- Secure grant funding for innovative public health initiatives
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive public health analysis experience
- Valid California Public Health Microbiologist certification preferred
- Expertise in statistical analysis (SPSS, SAS, R) and GIS mapping
- Demonstrated experience with grant writing and program evaluation
- Strong written communication skills for policy recommendations
- Ability to work collaboratively across government agencies
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish highly desirable
