- Develop and execute strategic communication plans for city departments including public works, parks, and emergency services
- Act as primary media spokesperson during press conferences and interviews
- Create compelling content for digital platforms, social media, and traditional media
- Manage crisis communications protocols and coordinate emergency information dissemination
- Oversee production of official publications, reports, and multimedia materials
- Collaborate with community leaders and stakeholders to address public inquiries
- Analyze communication metrics and refine strategies based on public feedback
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in government communications
- Proven expertise with crisis communication protocols and media relations
- Advanced proficiency with CMS platforms, analytics tools, and social media management
- Valid California Driver's License with clean driving record
- Experience managing budgets for communication campaigns
- Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance for sensitive information
- Spanish language proficiency preferred
