Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections of public infrastructure projects including roads, bridges, and utilities
- Verify compliance with City of Long Beach codes, CA Title 24, and federal regulations
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate project documentation
- Coordinate with contractors to resolve technical issues and ensure timely project completion
- Manage permit processes and enforce corrective actions for non-compliance items
- Represent the City in public meetings and community outreach initiatives
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in public works construction inspection or civil engineering
- Valid California Inspector Certification (OSHA 30-hour required)
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Proficiency with CAD software and inspection reporting tools
- Strong knowledge of California Public Contract Code and municipal regulations
- Ability to interpret complex blueprints and engineering specifications
- Valid California Class C Driver's License with clean record
