Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of public works projects including roads, bridges, and utilities
- Verify compliance with city codes, federal regulations, and engineering specifications
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate project documentation
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and city departments to resolve issues
- Enforce safety protocols and environmental compliance standards
- Train junior inspectors and provide technical guidance on complex projects
- Testify in hearings or legal proceedings regarding inspection findings
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in public works or construction inspection
- Valid Missouri Professional Engineer (PE) or Inspector Certification
- Proficiency with CAD software and inspection reporting tools
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and Missouri DOT regulations
- Ability to read complex blueprints and technical specifications
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder interactions
- Valid driver's license with clean record
