Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain server hardware, virtualization environments, and network configurations.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot complex technical issues to ensure 99.9% uptime for critical county applications.
- Manage and enforce cybersecurity protocols, including patch management, firewall configuration, and data backup solutions.
- Provide advanced technical support and training to county employees regarding hardware and software usage.
- Conduct regular audits of IT assets and vendor contracts to ensure cost-effectiveness and compliance.
- Collaborate with external vendors and internal departments to plan for future IT infrastructure upgrades.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in systems administration, network engineering, or a similar IT role.
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Experience with Cisco networking equipment and TCP/IP protocols.
- Ability to obtain a Nebraska Public Employment Trust (PET) background check and security clearance.
