Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management: Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of on-premise and cloud-based server environments (Windows Server, Linux, Azure).
- Security Compliance: Implement and monitor robust network security protocols, firewalls, and access controls to protect sensitive county data.
- Tier 3 Support: Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical support for complex hardware, software, and network issues across the organization.
- Disaster Recovery: Develop, test, and execute comprehensive backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
- System Optimization: Monitor system performance, analyze metrics, and perform system tuning to ensure high availability and efficiency.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate technical documentation, including network diagrams, configuration records, and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience: 5+ years of progressive experience in systems administration, network engineering, or IT infrastructure management.
- Certifications: Active IT certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, MCSA, or similar are highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and cloud platforms.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
