Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the City's local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN).
- Configure and troubleshoot servers, firewalls, and virtualization environments (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Implement and monitor security protocols to protect sensitive government data and ensure compliance with NIST standards.
- Coordinate with vendors for hardware and software procurement and support.
- Provide advanced technical support and training to city staff regarding network operations and cybersecurity best practices.
- Perform regular system backups, disaster recovery testing, and data integrity checks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in systems administration within a government or enterprise environment.
- Valid certification such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or CISSP is highly preferred.
- Proven experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and cloud technologies (AWS/Azure).
- Strong understanding of ITIL frameworks and change management processes.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced government environment.
