Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management: Oversee the administration, maintenance, and optimization of on-premise and cloud-based server infrastructure (Linux, Windows Server).
- Security Compliance: Implement and enforce FISMA-compliant security protocols to protect sensitive government data and prevent cyber threats.
- System Optimization: Monitor system performance, troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues, and implement solutions to minimize downtime.
- Cloud Migration: Lead initiatives to migrate legacy systems to modern cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) ensuring scalability and cost-efficiency.
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior staff, conduct technical training, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve IT objectives.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience is accepted.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in systems administration within a large-scale IT environment.
- Certifications: Active CISSP, Security+, or similar vendor-neutral certifications are highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python) and configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef).
- Government Standards: Demonstrated experience working with or understanding government IT standards and compliance regulations.
