Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain secure, high-availability network and server infrastructure for State agencies.
- Manage Active Directory environments, user accounts, and group policies to ensure organizational security and compliance.
- Oversee the deployment, patching, and monitoring of Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot complex technical issues and optimize system performance.
- Automate routine tasks using PowerShell and scripting to improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure all IT systems adhere to state and federal security compliance standards (e.g., NIST, HIPAA).
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation for critical system maintenance and emergency support.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent technical experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Systems Administration or Network Engineering.
- Strong expertise in Windows Server administration (2012, 2016, 2019, and 2022).
- Deep knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and Identity Management.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell and knowledge of Bash scripting.
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, CCNA, or MCSA are highly preferred.
- Ability to obtain a State of Illinois Public Trust clearance.
