Responsibilities
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain local and wide-area network infrastructure during the night shift to ensure 99.9% uptime for city services.
- Perform real-time incident response and resolution for critical server and application outages.
- Manage and patch systems, ensuring compliance with federal and state cybersecurity standards.
- Document system configurations, incident reports, and maintenance procedures for the day shift team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement upgrades and infrastructure improvements.
- Conduct security audits and vulnerability assessments on critical government systems.
- Escalate complex issues to senior leadership and external vendors when necessary.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent military/government experience).
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator are highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems administration, network engineering, or IT support.
- Proven experience working in a 24/7 operations or night shift environment.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, and network security protocols.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during night hours.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
